Hiiii.
So, I have more character ideas... well, sometimes they're more magic or superpower ideas, but anyway... than I could possibly use, with the five character limit, and my inconsistent muse and stamina and all, too. Still, I figured I might share them, maybe someone else could use them (credit me?) maybe as their own characters, or NPCs, ooor maybe help me decide which of these I should use for a third character, which I'm tempted to make soon XD (I'm leaning towards either Cendrillon or Branchsage.) Some of these ideas may need to be tweaked to work in Etherious, though.
Anyway, without further ado:
- Mist Saint - Angelic being that takes on the appearance and abilities of a heroic water magician after said magician dies. Water and holy magic, empathy and precognition. Archetypal nice guy. The being and water magician worked together in the past to fight against a corrupt institution. In Etherious, this is Rhyme.
- Swordslinger - Swordswoman who telekinetically uses many, many blades at once. Blood knight, mercenary, noble who ran away from home. In Etherious, this is Myria of Blades.
- Bloodblaze / Cendrillon - Fledgling fire magician with the power to sacrifice their well-being for more powerful magic. While my original setup for this character was her searching for her mother who was supposedly a legendary mage, and to have her father be a maker of magic items, I'm toying with a different plot loosely based on Cinderella where she lives with a stepmother and stepsister who dislike her, but she ends up saving them during a ball crashed by criminals and monsters. If I'm going with this thematic, her powers would be not just over fire, but also over ashes and cinders and glass. Fairy godmother would be a fire spirit (she'll be a theurgist, then?) and the prince could either be a villain, the one who crashed the ball (even if he organized it), or a magic teacher who invites her for a scholarship in the academy... well, both princes could exist, I guess.
- Branchsage - Master archer blinded by a strange, irremovable curse. Learned to commune with nature to shoot without sight. Looking for the one who cursed him and a way to remove the curse, of course. In Etherious, I was thinking they could be from a noble house that was loyal to the monarchs, and his bloodline was cursed during the revolution. The character himself might be, ironically, a knight for the current government now.
- Triune Wind - Wind magician who cuts, slams, and heals people with wind. Thematically based on the kamaitachi. Might eventually have the ability to split into three a la Warcraft/DotA's Brewmaster. Ex-assassin, now trying to be a wandering healer.
- Feral Templar - Catboy devoted to a church. Wields claw and shield in tandem; jumps a lot, holy magic and healing, shield boomerangs. Archetypal nice guy. Might have too much similarity personality-wise with Mist Saint, since he was kinda my prototype hero before I decided I want to incorporate more rainlike aspects.
- Ruinous Knight - Knight with a beast of void and ruin sealed within him and his fang-sword. Only survivor of the fight against said beast. Might not have complete control of his powers and thus chooses to be a hermit. Might know a lot about seals. Will need some sort of plot for him to come into the fray.
- Compendium - Magician with the power to learn anything learnable--- fighting styles, magic, assorted skills--- although she only has a limit of what knowledge she can equip, and she suffers from not having personal memories (her memories reset when she sleeps, a la Fifty First Dates). Power is actually due to a spirit within her, and her plot is her discovering this and synchronizing properly with the spirit so she can actually remember things.
- Beholder - Siblings/twins whose souls are fused together, making it necessary for them to stick together, and share senses, thoughts, and mana pools. The smaller black-haired younger sister can absorb energy and the tall white-haired older brother leaks it a la Cyclops, thus needing a sealing blindfold. Plot is exacting revenge on those who experimented on fusing their souls. It's kinda hard to look for face claims for them.
- Samsara Revolver - Revolver-wielding gunslinger who accesses the abilities of past lives as different races by shooting oneself a la Persona 3. Think Rokudo Mukuro from Katekyo or Pein from Naruto. Not much plot yet. The gun might not work well with Etherious's setting.
- Umbrella Knight - Warrior who wields an umbrella in battle, as a shield, sword, lance, gun, etc. Fits in RWBY really well. Want them to be a sort of puppet person or robot but that's probably not doable in Etherious.
- Lunar Weapon - Warrior who wields weapon with different forms based on the phases of the moon--- new moon is cloth, crescent is scythe, half is gigantic fan, full is gigantic shield. May or may not be a puppet person or robot but that's probably not doable in Etherious.
- Orbal Archer - Warrior with two magic hoops spinning around it, allowing it to float and shoot projectiles. Want them to be a sort of puppet person or robot but that's probably not doable in Etherious.
- Steel Dragon - a dragon made of steel. That shoots lasers. Yey. Might be able to shapeshift into a woman somehow?
- Dream Matter - magic style that creates various objects and creatures out of the stuff of dreams. Thematically based on the Oneiroi, Phantasos, Phobetor, and Morpheus.
- Thermomancy - magic style that blasts and steals heat, creating effects similar to fire and ice magic; using a fire-like spell could empower the next ice-like spell, and vice versa, as the magician stores heat and cold.
