[attr="class","nodensheader"]CHARACTER BACKGROUND [attr="class","nodenscharright"] [attr="class","nodenscharright2"] Look to the stars, hope and pray for a miracle. This is what Ferr's parents lived by when they were trying to conceive their first child. His father, a former champion of the Magic Games known as Jwak Red-Horn. His mother, Knight Feyie Aesir was known to be cleaver and strong Artificer. They prayed to have a child to any higher being that was out there, that existed. Finally, they managed to conceive a child. The pregnancy, however, was strange. It lasted longer than it should have. Stretching out to eleven months and slowly sapping away her strength. [break][break] Upon his birth, Ferr had a mass of pale hair covering his body and twin nubs where his horns would one day grow in. This mutation was something Jwak was fond of. Yet Feyie could not help but love her son regardless and in addition to his strange appearance. [Break][break] As he grew the young boy had wells of emotion take over him. He could feel senseless anger come up at random times. Whenever this happened, Ferr would go on small rampages that did not do any actual damage. The behavior was concerning nonetheless. Jwak and Feyie had to very different methods of controlling the boy or curving his energies. Jwak roughed up Ferr and allowed the boy to expend his rage through fighting his father. Fair to say Ferr was learned much from his father through these fights; which were more often labeled as ass-kickings. Feyie however simply had to sing, or hum to control the wild beast Ferr became. [break][break] Other children tended to avoid Ferr due to his outbursts and fluffy appearance. A few, though, would play with him and befriend him. However, these people were far and few between. Despite that, Ferr felt a special kinship with anyone who befriended him and genuinely liked him. Those individuals were always looked after by the mutant child; he acted as a brother and protector to these friends. Many fights were started and instigated by Ferr when he thought someone disrespected or bullied those he chose to watch over. Win or lose, the boy felt a satisfaction in the job of protecting. Even if it were from a non-existent threat. [break][break] After growing into his early teenage years, this behavior caused most of those people to put a distance between Ferr and themselves. Now the rampages became worse; Ferr had grown large and strong. The damage he could cause to himself and others was now a public issue. Feyie, in an attempt to prevent her son from turning into a menace due to his shortcomings, enlisted her son into the Knights. [break][break] Persuading Ferr to go through training was easy for the woman. For several weeks, Ferr went through training to become a proper Knight but gained the ire of those around him. Even after managing to become a Knight, his colleagues kept their distance from "The Bull". For several months the mutant did the best job he could; followed his mother's advise and gaining the trust of the citizen's of the district he was posted in. Ferr quickly developed the ability to navigate the city easily. Almost never getting lost except when illusory and deceptive magic was involved. [break][break] One fateful winter evening, Feyie and Ferr were patrolling Ordan's streets when they spotted a band of thieves unloading cargo into a carriage. In actuality, these individuals were members of Grimm Troupe. A fight broke out while the pair attempted to arrest the Agents. One of these Agents utilized a form of magic and landed a mortal wound on Feyie and managed to cut one of Ferr's horns. Ferr escaped with his dying mother. Before she passed away, Feyie said to Ferr: "I initially thought you should join because you needed the help becoming disciplined. You needed a way to grow confidence. But now I think back to the way you protected other children so adamantly. The rage you often feel is simply passion searching for an outlet. I had a dream the other day you watched over the whole world. I believe you have that potential."[break][break] Until that point, Ferr hadn't much passion for the position of Knight. It was something to do to fill his days and get food on the table. His mother's dying words, however, ignited a passion and allowed Ferr to come to an empathy. Feyie was right, and Ferr was going to dedicate himself to that belief she died with. For the next several odd years Ferr dedicated himself to achieving his mother's vision of himself. Not just for her sake but his own. On this path, he gained the respect of most of the other Knights and was on a first name basis with several dozen citizens. In the many tests of strength and skill that followed, he never again failed as he did on that winter night. [break][break] In the past year, the position of Knight Captain in charge of Ordan became vacant when the last Captian was killed in combat. Understanding the requirements of the position and believing himself a good fit, Ferr put in the request for the position. In an ironic turn of events, the outstanding Knight had been approached with the offer. After a lengthy hearing process, evaluation, and making many promises, Ferr Aesir was named Knight-Captain of Ordan. |
