[attr="class","nodensheader"]CHARACTER BACKGROUND [attr="class","nodenscharright"] [attr="class","nodenscharright2"] "I've... done some things I'm not too proud of to get to where I am today. I didn't do it out of whim or for the hell out of it, but more or less whatever I could in order to survive. It was a world my father forced me into, since I had no other choice. If I had the choice to go an alternate direction with my life, I would take it. It may not lead me to the me I am today... but I would definitely sleep better if I don't have to reminiscence that... awful day." [break][break] "My mother... was out of the picture. My father, on the other hand, was a master of artifice. Although it wasn't the official title, in my eyes he was one of the best inventors Eos has ever gotten. He wasn't just good at crafting weaponry and armor, no. He would create things that could aid the average citizen of Eos. This man, Thomas Young, my father, was a man of who I had thought had a very good heart. I was so captivated by what he could do, what he built with his bare hands, I was inspired enough to follow in his footsteps. I wanted to become like him; I wanted to help contribute to Eos with inventions of my own and become a figure for others that wish to become great Artificers and show them anything is possible." [break][break] "My father had seen that spark of determination when I was at a young age of only 10 years old. Despite my age, my father would help me study in the arts of Artifice and teach me the basics of inventing weaponry and armor. He would guide and teach me the ways of his own vision of what Artifice and magic was until I was 14. That was the age that shipped me off to the academy. I will admit, it felt completely unfair to receive teachings from my father as I was ahead most of my fellow academy student. I didn't mind assisting those that needed help... but it felt good to be on top. It felt good to receive a lot of recognition of my work; it almost felt I was like my father for a moment." [break][break] " 'I almost felt like I was like my father for a moment...' I thought I felt proud in that moment... until I became 18. I had a good run in the academy. I had friends, a social life, to some's surprise. Every single free minute I had was with my head buried in the books, absorbing more and more information in the arts of Artifice. I would still even create artifacts of my own to get a better grasp of what I'm doing and seeing if I understand the arts better. When I was 18, I was very well aware with what I was doing. My father was impressed with how much and what I've created. [break][break] 'Anemis... I think you're ready for the next step to becoming a strong Artificer.', he'd told me... but that was before I knew what I was getting into." [break][break] "I was led into a world of crime. My father, who I thought was a goodhearted man, worked for some of the Grimm Troupe members. He gave them artifacts to help in exchange for gold. He was a conman. I didn't want to help him forge and enhance artifacts for such an organization whose ideology aligned with a lawless world, but I couldn't back down. I was already aligned with them the moment I was introduced. My father at that time... he had a different aura in his eyes. It wasn't that fatherly figure I'd always used to see. No, it was greed and corruption. Day and night I would create artifacts alongside my father and trade them with some Grimm Troupe members. Illegal experiments on live people, suspicious research on magic that could also be considered illegal. It was... sickening. It felt as if I was enslaved, trapped, hopeless." [break][break] "When I turned 23, I wanted to become a professor of the academy. I wanted to live my own life and get away from the enslavement called a contract with some of the Grimm Troupe members. When I wanted to dissolve our agreement, there was only one thing I had to do if I wanted to be free: kill my father. Predictable, as I honestly would've called it, but it didn't take away the shock factor. I... was desperate. Every minute felt as if I was on my last breath. The conditions made were inhuman. I was losing it. Even so my fath- no, Thomas, agreed with these horrid conditions without any hesitation and the safety of his only child. So... I had to do what I had to do, for my own freedom and to have control over my own individuality." [break][break] "During that same year, I applied and became a professor at the academy. Life was... okay. Things were... somewhat okay. I couldn't get the image of killing my own father. He may have manipulated and emotionally abused me throughout the years, he might have been a piece of shit that deserved to be put six feet under, but he was still my father. He cared for me throughout the years, he was the one who provided me this knowledge and convinced me to become an Artificer. I knew he didn't wanted that life for me. He did it for my own life... yet I took his." [break][break] "Three years later, I was selected as the master of Artifice from not only my current work as a professor, but from my work as a student. Of course I accepted the title, but my own work didn't stop there. I had other plans that were behind the scenes in my professor years, some included avenging my father's death. I still hold onto some of the illegal tactics that have helped me obtained my position, but... [break][break] I'll do anything I can to satisfy my blood for vengeance." |
