Ferr AesirBehemoth sets a pretty low bar as far as public opinion is concerned so it wouldn't have been hard for Ferr to best her in that regard. She wouldn't have said anything about that, though; not unless he brought it up first. It's just her way of doing things, no hard feelings towards Ferr if others like him more. He would have been about 16 or 17 when she first started as a Knight. Very possible she knew him as a teen, and may have had to subdue him if he was rampaging about. Cue the awkward meeting of escorting him home to Feyie late at night. I don't think she would have been too rough with him back then? She has beast blood so she had similar phases growing up. If anything she would have tried to reach him before any other Knights did. Would put a nice empathetic touch on things for the both of them, I think. Especially with how far they've both traveled down their own paths after ten years. Good idea. A plot for a later time, then.

RhymeIt's Rhyme's backstory, so whatever works for you works for me. Behemoth was either there as an active duty Knight, or as another adventurer. ... That conch shell heartbeat, though. I doubt you would ever see a more confused expression on her face. x) She was probably using a safe house in Ordan while working in that district since she lives in Era. And alrighty! It'll be interesting for Behemoth to see that calming ability for the first time later on, then. Rhyme getting in her way will be fun to play out. Looks like they'll have some rough patches to work through. It's possible her tribe had some connection to that mage, but I wasn't certain how to go about that. Perhaps an elder was visiting the city to check up on people, and comes across Behemoth with Rhyme? They might have been a kid at the time, but would remember Rhyme's appearance? We could start things off as she's patrolling around Ordan and talking with him as she goes, answering questions. Then they could come across something that would prompt them to intervene?

Ferr AesirNeed a hand, Cap? Behemoth's been a Knight for close to ten years now, so she's probably seen Ferr around one way or another. Depending on when his mother died, Behemoth might have even worked with Feyie briefly? She would have at least heard of her reputation, and kept a curious eye on Ferr because of that. Behemoth certainly wouldn't be one to stare at Ferr for his appearance, and might be one of his peers who he could rely on early in his career. I get the feeling that if both of them are on the same job people would be leery of collateral damage, but what's life without excitement? Might be interesting to see how he'd react to her taking bribes, too. Perhaps he could be someone who helps keep Behemoth honest, and her perspective optimistic? Or we could even play that revelation out in a thread later if you'd like. Despite their differing views I believe they'd get along well enough.

Rhyme
Behemoth could have been part of the group who had found Rhyme, if you're still looking for takers. While she is a Council Knight she does like to get out of the city from time to time. She has something similar to Rhyme's own ability to feel the presence of others, but I'm not entirely sure if he has a 'heartbeat' due to his physiology? An abnormal signal to her would prompt an investigation.
She doesn't live in Ordan, but she could have invited him to stay at a Knight's safe house for a brief time? She's sympathetic to mutants in need, and Rhyme doesn't seem like someone who'd put her on guard with his presence. Initially she'd be wary of his ability to calm others, but if they progressed to a casual friendship since Rhyme's discovery Behemoth might come to appreciate his power. Something to help her relax with after a hard day if you will; drinks would be on her of course. If he used this power to stop her from being violent as a Knight they'd be at odds with each other for a bit, even if Rhyme's probably in the right for wanting to settle conflicts peacefully.
It's up to you how much Rhyme would also sense regarding Behemoth's unlawful acts as a Knight. She does take bribes if the circumstances are right. Mostly where no one will get seriously hurt, but that still doesn't make her choices right in the end even if the money goes to her tribe outside of the city.

[attr="class","nodenscontmut"] [attr="class","nodensright"] [attr="class","nodensheader"]ABERRATION - Beast Blood [attr="class","nodensmagright"] [attr="class","nodensmagright2"] Behemoth's mutation is inheriting the physical prowess of the beasts that roam Serra. Her blood and body share many traits with several ferox species.[break][break]
It takes little effort for the mutant to maintain a toned, athletic figure. When she puts her mind to it and disciplines herself accordingly her muscle mass can expand even further. Her compact physique belies her innate abilities to say the least. Her body is heavier than one might expect as well, thanks to the denser bones, muscle fibers, and skin. While not immune to physical attacks she is highly resistant to them by nature. Her body is a natural weapon when things get up close and personal, and that's how she likes her fights. Despite her raw strengths however, she is not faster than the average person.[break][break]
Her most obvious physical mutations are having three digits on her hands instead of five. Each hand has two thick, robust fingers to simplify the process of smashing and punching without the risk of damaging multiple fragile knuckles. Her thumbs are also a little thicker to compensate. Behemoth does naturally grow sharp claws on the ends of these digits, but keeps them trimmed and her hands gloved while in Eos.[break][break]
If left unchecked, a pair of tusks will grow out of her lower jaw (one on each side) from within her mouth and curve upwards between and past her lips. But, as she finds them bothersome Behemoth simply removes these modified teeth whenever they grow long enough to pinch onto. To her annoyance these grow back every month or so, leaving the woman quite grumpy from pain every time she has to yank them out. [break][break]
As a natural carnivore her body recovers quickly with an increased diet of protein. It's not unusual to see her eating several steaks at a time when recovering from a fight. She could eat them raw even, but she isn't that barbaric as to forego using even simple spices and cooking to make her meals savory.[break][break]
Overall, she's normally treated as a shock trooper by the Knights. Assaulting fortified positions or hardened targets Behemoth counts on being able to weather the storm to deliver a few key, meteoric blows.
[attr="class","nodensheader"]VARIANCE - Beat As One [attr="class","nodensmagright"] [attr="class","nodensmagright2"] Like the titanic creature from which her nickname comes from, Behemoth can sense other living beings around herself. She can feel the heartbeats of others within 50ft of her being. She can tell the difference if they speed up or slow down, and their general direction. With enough familiarity Behemoth can associate these pulses of life to specific people, much like recognizing the voice of someone outside of your field of vision.

[attr="class","nodensheader"]CHARACTER BACKGROUND [attr="class","nodenscharright"] [attr="class","nodenscharright2"] I remember my first visit to Eos. My soft steps between gilded spires clawing at the sky. My cautious stares at the rampant use of magic. My nose wrinkling at burning pheromones hinting at cruel desires. And my clenched fists and teeth, locked by instincts that abhorred what I could not understand. What I saw then was a beast. A creature so massive that it shouldn’t have been able to move under its own weight, and yet it painfully does. Its rotting flesh propelled by so many writhing maggots, gorging themselves as they crawl over one another for an illusion of dominance. [break][break]
Call me and my fellow tribesmen savages for all I care. We knew what it was like to live our lives without owing anyone anything. And now we are forced to work with ‘civilized’ people, even though it may be the end of who we are. Despite that, we are not afraid to die. Not when we know what it’s like to have lived. [break][break] What I fear the most, however; is losing sight of that joy and freedom beneath the encroaching shadows of this beast. [break][break] As an outsider to city life it took many years for Behemoth to adjust to the pace and noise. It was a stark contrast from living in Waas Forest, where fresh food was readily available and nature kept you on your toes. Things made sense back then, and it all felt right. She lived in a tribe of mutants, but they coexisted peacefully with other cultures. Often they acted as guides or hunters, braving the wilderness for those too soft to do so themselves. However, her tribe came to a violent clash with a noble house who had sought to purchase the land they lived on. Without any familiarity with legal proceedings her tribe’s concerns were merely swept away as they too were forced to relocate. [break][break] Understanding that more bloodshed, while justified in their eyes, would only bring them more trouble the tribe looked for help in Eos. Those that could find work stayed within the city, while the remainder of the community settled down in a remote portion of Waas Forest to continue a simple, honest life. The plan was to scrounge up enough money and resources to buy land and solidify their home’s borders, but it has been slow going at best, especially with the corruption within the city. [break][break] Like many of her kin Behemoth does not use her real name within the city walls, hence her peculiar moniker. At least, not openly. Among those they trust they will share such privileged information, but no one outside that tight knit circle. For almost ten years now Behemoth has served as a Knight of the Council, working hard to keep the streets safe as she learned about and integrated into life in Eos. It has been an unforgiving and thankless job, but one she vents her frustrations through via heavy handed shows of force. To those especially who raise arms against Knights Behemoth is particularly glad to fight with. There’s less paperwork and sorting to do with dead bodies. [break][break] Believing that might is right she has a distinct distaste for politics and its inherent dishonesty. However, people who think they have power will always try to rise to the top, and she recognizes this fact acutely. If turning a blind eye to something would earn a profitable outcome Behemoth might do so if she feels she can get away with it. She doesn’t like the idea of spreading further anarchy, but she has her tribe to think of first and has little hope left for Eos being redeemable. [break][break] If she could, Behemoth would take her tribal kin and leave Eos forever before it consumed them all. For now though she’s here to stay. For better, or for worse. |
