[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] "Hmm." [break][break] Wearing her usual blue sash to signal her authority and position as an Arbiter, Aster inspected the regular blade before her; front to back, its sharpness, and design. It was nothing more than a simple sword, at least appearance wise it was. She was doing some shopping on new weaponry to further her defense in combat, but her luck wasn't going as much as she anticipating it to be. "And you said it can do... what exactly again?" She asked, her eyes now glaring at the merchant who claimed the sword was a rare artifact. [break][break] "Oh, it does a lot than it seems, Ms. Arbiter ma'am!" The merchant chirped while clapping his hands together in enthusiasm then motioned his hands at the weapon. "It can easily manipulate drawn blood to sharpen the blade. The more blood it has, the more likely it can cut through almost any material!" He explained. [break][break] Aster perked a brow upwards, a smirk appearing on her lips. Her senses knew he was lying, but even so they weren't needed to know that the merchant was trying to scam the woman for money. "Interesting. So if I were to, let's say, jab this straight through your chest with the blood on the blade," She paused to point the blade directly at the merchant's chest. "It'd increase the sharpness?" She asked. [break][break] "...Y-Yes! Indeed it will! W-Which is why you will be getting it for free! By all means necessary! Take it if you want!" The merchant blurted out. [break][break] With a satisfied nod, Aster gave a friendly smile at the now nervous merchant. "Why, what great customer service you have. I think this sword will have great use in battle. Thank you... now let's see what other weapons you have." She said.

[googlefont=Dancing Script] Soon comes the cold, and the night that never ends. The pale-haired man has left his shop under the care of the manager while he took the time out for a stroll. His beast followed suit, bounding after him before he could get too far. The throng of people strayed from their path to allow a pathway for the bonded beast and its master. The duo passed multiple shops before something - someone had caught his eye, a woman at that. A soft humm that left his lips, Meztli altered his path to enter the shop. The lion in his company stayed at the entrance as he strided forth. He caught the tail-end of the conversation of the two and his nose crinkled for a moment. Meztli came upon the woman’s right side with a few feet between him and the woman and tilted his head to take in her features. A brow rose as he took notice of the blue sash around her. Arbiter. Meztli tsked once with a click of his tongue. He clasped his hands together behind his back as he swung his gaze towards the merchant with the tip of the blade at his chest. He could only sigh in his heart of the seller being bullied. His eyes not fazed at the sight before he shifted his gaze towards the rest of the items on display before falling back on the sword in the female’s hand. “I have a need for that sword, Miss.” He has no use for an artifact when he could harness the ethernano himself, but why not try and take it? Silver eyes met the woman’s while his brows in a silent question. His right hand came in front of his body as he extended his arm out half way with his palm facing upwards, in expectation of her releasing her hold on the weapon to him.

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] Her smile faltering do to an interruption from someone else, Aster turned her head around to a long haired man whose hand was pointing at her. She eyed the man when he wanted the sword that she now rightfully owned. It was rather an odd gesture, considering that there were other weaponry that would fit his tastes. [break][break] It didn't take long for her to figure out who was standing before her, but Aster didn't want to point out the detail just yet. She only cracked a small smile at the thought while she drew the sword away from the merchant and pointed it towards the long haired man. [break][break] "What a shame. I need it more." Aster said in a mockingly pitiful voice, pouting. She then laid the sword by her side and ran a hand through her hair. "But, I'm sure there are other weaponry you can buy that may match what you want, because this sword right here," She paused for a moment to raise the sword back up and resume pointing it at the merchant. "Is all mine."

[googlefont=Dancing Script] Soon comes the cold, and the night that never ends. Frosted lashes lowered as the tip of the blade changed from the seller to himself. “Shame, yes.” No feeling could be felt in his words. To resort so low to threaten a man for a mere weapon. His head shook in disappoint at himself. He should have minded his own. Here he was wasting time with such a person. “Not interested.” Meztli’s tone was flat as he straightened his posture to face the merchant. He raised his left hand with his index and middle finger positioned outward to reach towards the back of the sword in the woman’s hand in an effort to apply force to level the tip of the sword to the ground. Simultaneously, his right reached into his pocket to fetch a pouch as he leisurely displayed it with an open palm to the merchant. “I will be taking the sword, if there are no other offers.” Or problems. His silver gaze shifted slightly to glance out of his left peripheral to try and catch the arbiter’s expression.

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] The man was very persistent with wanting to get this sword, much to Aster's internal annoyance as the tip of the blade lowered its direction. Still, she kept her friendly smile, although it did shrink a little from the action. The life of politics taught her very well to suppress the amount of frustration she'd like to express. [break][break] Hmm... this man really wants this weapon. Pity. [break][break] Meanwhile, the merchant, who was already beginning to sweat out of fear and confusion, and Aster glared at the pouch presented for a few minutes before the woman casually reached for it with her free hand to grab it from the man's palm. "And I think this would make a lovely donation to centers that aid the homeless of our city." She chirped, widening her smile. "Surely, you have other weapons to offer this fine gentleman, yes?" She asked. [break][break] The merchant shifted his eyes between both the Arbiter and the silver haired man. "U-Uh... y-yes! I do! I t-think." He muttered with nervous laughter. "I-I could always give you another weapon that operates similarly to this one, y-yes?"

[googlefont=Dancing Script] Soon comes the cold, and the night that never ends. Ivory eyes caught the slight shift in the woman’s smile. The money offered for the man taken by the arbiter as a show of donation. A slow curve of his lips displayed a cold smile. Meztli’s feet pivoted to face the woman fully while his right hand, free of coin, fell to his side. His left hand reached towards the hilt of the sword by the female’s side in an effort to take it in his grasp. He ignored the merchant’s spluttering and the arbiter’s twist on words. His eyes narrowed as he gazed at the woman’s form fully before settling on her eyes. Meztli tilted his torso forward slightly whilst his head cocked to the right to down at the woman. Long silver tresses fell over his shoulder from the movement. He tsked yet again. “Give me that sword, and in return,” Meztli paused in his speech to have his eyes turn to the pouch in the arbiter’s hand before returning back to the woman’s gaze. “Use my gift in order to get your own so I can be on my way.” His tone cold, final. Facial features changed to portray an indifferent look as his eyes narrowed to see if she would challenge his words.

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] This was one stubborn man that was just so determined to try and take such a weapon away from Aster. She took a calm but heavy deep breath as she continued to keep her cool. She wasn't going to just give out just yet, but she'd only hope things wouldn't escalate further than what was going on now. Not that she wouldn't mind if it did. With her position, she'd receive better aid from bystanders. Hopefully, at least. [break][break] "Well, the determination for this sword is admirable. Although, I'm afraid to announce that I've already bought the sword for free from the courtesy of this fine gentleman right here." Aster said with a friendly grin, tilting it to the left for effect while her grip on the hilt tightened. It already felt obvious that neither of them had any desire to give up the sword and wouldn't any time sooner. But there was no reason to worry. [break][break] Aster's smile widen a little "How about I give you back your gift so you can get your own sword and I can go ahead and take something that was already mine in the first place?" She offered. [break][break] "We wouldn't want things to go further south now, would we?"
