Rats! Rats! before.[break][break] Quest Location: Byzel - Sewers[break] Quest Client: The mayor of Byzel. An man of large and intimidating stature despite being elderly.[break][break] Rewards: 1500 G. A lacrima instilled with light magic. It floats around the user and engulfs its surroundings in a warm light allowing its owner(s) to see in complete darkness, even in darkness that is induced by magic. [attr="class","opmindblurbq2"] Quest Description [break] Some of the city's mages have finally pinpointed the source of the rat problem. The source appears to be magical and gives the rats incredible strength and vigor allowing them to breed out of control. The mayor has immediately set out a reward. A large tunnel leading away from the central well deep in the sewers. Due there being no light in the tunnels, the mayor will give the mages an item from the magic council's vault that enables the mages to see in the dark.[break][break] After fighting off some fiendish rats and making their way through the tunnel, the mages will arrive at another large clearing. Here, they will find a large green crystal that emenates strength and has grown plants underground. The rats seem to feed off this crystal, and the mages will have to fight off several human-sized rats with the ability to manipulate the plant-life all around them. Upon killing these rats, the mages must destroy the crystal and the rest of the rat nests and return to the surface recovering a piece of the green crystal as proof and research material for the magic council. The quest will be complete once the mayor receives the green crystal. |

The mayor has put out an additional reward for any mages willing to take care of the problem. Step into the sewers and find their nest. The mayor tied red string around some of the rats and let them run. Destroy their nest with whatever means necessary and return to the mayor with the red string as proof you actually found their hideout. That should take care of the problem, at least for a while.
