But don't fret, as soon as there are too many characters to properly sift through in just one sub-board I'm splitting it up by faction! [break][break]
1b. The permissions on the entire board were messed up. I fixed them all, and everything is as it should be now. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. (up until today, guests could post in the roleplay sections >_> Goes to show my attention to detail)[break][break]
2. I posted it there to not detract from the "Grand Opening" post since that contains a lot of pointers. I suppose I'll move it though since the advertisement thing blocks that anyway. I basically just chose a board at random that didn't have any posts. [break][break]
3. You are absolutely correct! I will add a board where people can submit applications for a bunch of creations! Like historical figures, events, additional locations as well as creatures for the bestiary! Thank you for the suggestion![break][break]
4. That only works with the correct plugin, but sadly, this skin isn't compatible with the plugin. I tried it back when messing around with the skin to fit my needs and it messes with the css and doesn't properly embed itself. Sorry, but you'll have to deal with this for now until someone comes along and figures out why the plugin doesn't work ):[break][break]

While they generally have wings, it is not their outward appearance that determines a wyvern's characteristics. Most importantly, it is their internal makeup, and most significantly a breath-based magical ability that marks wyverns as a species. They are also typically very sturdy and extremely fast fliers, with Gryphons, a fairly untypical species of wyvern being among the fastest creatures in Serra.[break][break] Name: Ethereals [break][break] Description: Ethereals include all living beings that subsist purely on Aether. Meaning they have no reproductive function or relevant bio-chemical mechanisms keeping them alive, but an entirely ethereal foundation. Ethereals are a diverse subset of creatures that include a wide variety of entities which, although intelligent, portray behaviour and ways of living entirely different from bio-mechanical organisms. They typically portray an entirely different relationship to emotion, impulse, desire and reason. The genetic information of ethereals is typically weaved into the Aether they subsist on.[break][break] Name: Elementals [break][break] Description: Elementals are among the most unique creatures in Serra. As the name suggests they assemble their physical form via the four elements and their subsets. They usually have the ability to increase or decrease their size based on the amount of physical matter they manage to assemble. They typically have a near-human level of intelligence, but typically follow linear emotional cycles based on the element they assembled out of. [break][break] Name: Specters [break][break] Description: Specters are typically created out of raw, natural Aether . What exactly their makeup is unknown, as they are typically different to record and study due to their natural physical manifestations being almost completely resistant to being perceived by human senses. Throughout history, they were responsible for many urban myths and legends. Before humans gained proper understanding of magic, they were often thought to be of divine origin due to human perception often warping their appearance into grotesque and abstract forms.[break][break] Name: Serpents [break][break] Description: Serpents are a type of reptilian, typically limbless, omnivorous and attuned reptile that are a distantly related to wyverns. In folklore, serpents were thought as wyverns who's wings were clipped for committing some kind of evil. In truth, their evolution simply diverged, and serpents became the earth-dwelling species they are now. They count to the longest animals in all of Serra. The most common characteristic among Serpents is their size, and their snake-like body.[break][break] Name: Ferox [break][break] Description: Ferox are the name for reptilian, ape-like creatures that primarily dwell in jungles. Their name is derived from their ferocious nature, as they are among the most violent and aggressive creatures in Serra. They fail to showcase any kind of magical attunement, which they make up for with their extreme durability and incredible physical strength and acrobatism. They are also thought to be one of the oldest species in Serra, predating even the existence of elementals.[break][break] |

They are given the name "king of the jungle" due to their tremendous nature. Essentially, they are gargantuan versions of Baloths. They tend to only grow fur along their spine, and their posture is geared more towards knuckle-walking than the acrobatism of their smaller cousins. This is likely due to their massive size. Their mandibles also grow attached to their lower jaw independent from their fangs. The mandibles grow their entire lives, and are known to match Dragon's in size. The bigger the mandibles, the older the Behemoth is. They also grow in general size their entire life. Reaching up to 500 feet in height, Behemoths are the largest living species in Serra. [break][break] Behaviour: Different to their smaller cousins, Behemoths are not generally aggressive or territorial. Their intelligence mirrors that of their cousins, but their usual disposition is calm, and they rarely hunt or attack. Their only real rivalry is with larger denominations of wyrms that will hunt them in groups, against which they will retaliate with full force. Behemoths themselves are omnivorous and have evolved to include trees and plantlife into their diet. They tend to simply rip it out of their surroundings and stuff it into their jaws.[break][break] Habitat: While one would think these natural titants are easy to find due to their size, their general docile dispotion and lazy nature cause them to rarely traverse great distances. They usually build nests only in the deepest, thickest parts of jungles, where even they don't stick out of the treetops anymore. They are generally solitary creatures, and only socialize during mating season, which only happens about once every 50 years, as their lifespans are incredulously long, most Behemoths reaching ages of up to 300, where the most common cause of death is being too weak to fight off wyrms anymore.[break][break] Abilities: - A behemoth's hide is several feet thick. They are virtually invulnerable to any kind of physical trauma[break]
- Behemoths are extremely in tune with their environment, and can sense most living creatures within a general mile radius.[break]
- By raw stats, Behemoths are the strongest creatures recorded in Serra. It is impossible to measure just how much they can lift, but they tear out trees from the ground like toothpicks out of cheese.[break]
- While Ferox generally have very little magical ability, Behemoths have developed the unique ability to move the earth beneath them. They are known to cause landslides and shift the earth to form valleys where they build their nests. |
