brighid has oft been described as a disappointment by both her mother and father. [break][break]

she was born the youngest of three and raised to become a proper, well-educated and well-mannered young lady. despite the magic which infused itself into her flesh and effectively rendered her mutated and beastly, her sire and dam were determined and rigid in the belief that she could be properly molded into the desired shape. but brighid would never succeed in playing the part of the noble. [break][break]

the girl was remarkably clumsy and far too slow to pick up on such things as manners and cues; and it seemed nigh impossible for her to remain poised whilst presenting herself as a young woman of the noble persuasion. despite having inherited blood that was oft considered both cherished and rare, she could do little more than stumble her way through life. her older siblings excelled with astonishing ease while she failed and floundered and struggled to gain her parent's approval all throughout her years as a pre-adolescent.[break][break]

their mounting frustrations resulted in the pair simultaneously abandoning their plans for their daughter and neglecting the youngest stoneshire in favor of veering their attention and affections toward her siblings, which inadvertently granted brighid ample opportunity to cultivate her own interest and hobbies. she continued onward with her usual education while investing her spare time toward the exploration of libraries and spending the money she was gifted on a bi-monthly basis toward purchasing books to add on to her ever growing collection of literary works. she took up formerly emptied positions in the numerous libraries that were sponsored by house alder, the nobles over eager to record and maintain their personal history. and brighid very much favored the company of dusty old tomes over that of pompous and stuffy nobles, the young noble shamelessly cramming her face into books and soaking up both fictional and non-fictional pieces with fervor. her predecessor had grown old when she began to truly hold mastery over the collection of information, the art of preserving books and scrolls both magical and not, and the age old practice of storing and ensuring that nothing was lost within the massive archives that had accumulated over the centuries. the young woman formally took on the position when she had reached her eighteenth year and happily accepted the burden. while her mother remained unhappy and critical over her choice of profession, her father expressed approval over the newly gotten and not at all sought after position. brighid excelled at it regardless of their opinions, the girl relishing her time spent playing the role of her house's record keeper.
