They are likely the most dangerous creature anyone could encounter in a jungle. Their fangs are characteristically clean, and their mandibles tend to fall out much smaller than that of their smaller cousins. Their hide is also not as irregular, and thicker in general protecting them against blunt trauma much better than that of their smaller cousins. Baloths have even denser muscle mass proportionate to their size. Their limbs also tend to be proportionally shorter and thicker, as is their torso. They don't climb as much as their smaller cousins and prefer to live on solid ground. Their skin is also naturally green and blends into their habitat extremely well. They barely grow any fur, but develop swaths of white spots over their lifetime. They are generally slightly larger than dragons, and grow to be about 30 feet on average.[break][break] Behaviour: Baloths are not as savage or barbaric as their smaller cousins, and they have shown a much higher level of intelligence and a lesser level of aggression while still retainint the incredibly territorial nature. Being extremely gifted hunters, Baloths will stop at nothing to remove trespassers, or anyone they might consider a threat. One of their primary hallmarks however, something that makes them a contender for one of the most dangerous creatures in all of Serra, is their relentlessness. While Kavu's will generally back off when beaten into a corner, Baloths show absolutely no restraint or care for getting wounded. They also don't just kill their prey, they will maul it until it is spread out in bits and pieces. This, combined with their incrdible instinct and ability to traverse the jungle puts them at the top of the food chain. Even Wyrms tend to avoid groups of Baloths, and look for easier targets to kill.[break][break] Habitat: Baloths generally live underground in the jungle, in burrows and groves they carve out for themselves. They treat their direct habitat as property, and will stop at nothing to defend it. Their territorial nature extends to their own kind as well, making them few and far in between the thickest areas of the Dungrove Jungle.[break][break] Abilities: - A Baloth's skin is incredibly thick, and extremely resistant to blunt force or trauma.[break] - Baloths are estimated to be able to lift about 30 tons on average, making a physical blow from them lethal to almost any human.[break] - Baloths are unique in their affinity for magic, as they have none, but are also incredibly resistant to it. Magic has been shown to be extremely ineffective in combating a Baloth.

They are typically only slightly taller than an average human, while being about four times as heavy due to their dense muscle mass. They have brown, extremely tough skin that tends to be covered in green-ish fur in spots. Their hide is also incredibly irregular and grows various potrusions from their body throughout their life. Typically when wounded, a Kavu's skin will cover the wound with a potrusion to increase toughness in that spot. They also have considerably large mandibles and incredibly long legs that lends them impressive jumping and running power. They have two fingers and an opposable thumb on each hand that, while less sophisticated than that of a human, allows them to navigate their habitats with incredible flexibility and ease. [break][break] Behaviour: Like all Ferox, Kavus are incredibly savage, aggressive creatures. It is assumed that they are not as territorial as they might seem, but simply enjoy the thrill of violence and hunting. Kavus are even known to fight amongst themselves fairly often, despite being extremely social creatures. They will hunt in large swaths and groups, taking down entire families of smaller prey, or hunt wyrms in caves together. They are reasonably intelligent, though nowhere close to humans. Their barbaric nature makes them difficult to study, as they generally indulge their violent urges whenever they get a chance.[break][break] Habitat: Like all Ferox, Kavus only live in the jungle. They tend to make treetops their home and jump down on their prey from there. While they are plentiful and are a common sight in the jungle, it simple enough to avoid them due to their tendency to mark occupied trees with their very pungent droppings.[break][break] Abilities: - Kavus have an incredible regenerative ability that can heal wounds within minutes, and even regrow lost limbs within days. They are incredibly resistant to any kind of physical force or trauma.[break] - Kavu's boast tremendous physical strength, more than twenty times than that of an average human. They can lift up to a dozen tons with relative ease.[break] - Kavu's don't have any inherent magical affinity or skill, but have been known to use unsophisticated forms of earth magic.

Meaning they can form out of whatever mineral they wish. Rock golems being the most common, sand golems and metal golems are not unheard of, and there have even been recorded cases of diamond golems. Once fully formed, their size seems to be a completely arbitrary thing with no pattern across any type of golem. They usually form a somewhat humanoid build, with two legs, two arms, fingers, and something resembling a head.[break][break] Behaviour: Golems are intensely stoic creatures. Like all elementals, they have a human level of intelligence. Their existence seems to be a paradox, as most golems are fundamentally born with a distinct lack of purpose. It is not uncommon for golems to stand still for years before moving even an inch. However, they make great Familiars as they require very little effort to bind and become fiercely loyal to their owners. They are very rarely territorial, and often group together in an attempt to socialize amongst each other.[break][break] Habitat: Golems can be found wherever there is a strong enough presence of magic, and enough earth to form a body. They are typically stationary until encountering another human or creature to react to. While they aren't a common sight, they have been recorded to exist all across Serra. It is guaranteed to find Golems resting at Kingdom's Edge due to their formations in the aftermath of the Battle at the Edge one hundred years ago.[break][break] Abilities: - Golems command whatever they formed out of. Whether that be rock, metal or sand. They lack commandment over anything other than the material they are made of.[break] - Most notably, golems can attract the material they are constructed out of and can virtually infinitely increase their size. Some golems have been known to rival Lindwyrms in size.[break] - As they are made out of solid material, their bodies are finite. While they can disassemble and reassemble as often as they wish, if a golem's body is taken apart enough, they will fail to reassemble and die.

Hence their name. However, they are merely wyverns that lost their wings somewhere along their evolutionary development. Lindwyrms are the largest wyverns. They have massively long tails, up to twice their body length, short stumpy fore- and hind-legs with massive claws attached to them that are primarily used for digging underground. Their hide is the toughest among the wyverns, and their scales can grow to be twice the size of a human skull. They are also the largest and heaviest wyverns. They average around 40-50 feet in length, without their tails. Their necks tend to be comparatively long in size, somewhere between those of Dragons and Drakes. When walking on the surface, they usually drag their bellies along the ground.[break][break] Behaviour: Lindwyrms are among the most dangerous creatures in Serra. They are unforgivingly brutal. They lack average wyvern intelligence, showing no ability to communicate with humans. They are natural gluttons that will eat as much as they can whenever they can. When hunting, they will bury themselves just below the surface and burst to the surface as soon as they sense a living creature in their range. And due to their massive size and impenetrable hide, fighting back against Lindwyrms is usually fatal, even for gifted mages. Escape is also nearly impossible as they are masterful trackers and rarely let their prey escape.[break][break] Habitat: Lindwyrms only live in far reaches of the southern plains. They lead long and solitary lives. Naturally nomadic however, they don't build nests or stay in one place for too long. Their danger primarily comes from their unpredictable nature and invisibility to their prey. Shying away from civilization however, they have never been sighted anywhere near Eos.[break][break] Abilities: - Lindwyrms are reasonably strong being able to lift around three times their body weight. This effectively makes them the strongest wyvern, as their weight far exceeds those of even the largest dragons.[break] - On land, humans could probably reliably outrun most Lindwyrms, but they can reach up to 70 mph while burrowing underground.[break] - Lindwyrms have a natural affinity towards earth- and fire based magic. In addition to that, many adult Lindwyrms are known to be able to cast forms of gravitational magic that pins their prey down the ground, and can even affect airborne prey during periods of droughts.[break] - A Lindwyrm naturally has the ability to breathe fire. However, it is not rare that they eat gravel and begin breathing lava at difficult prey.

While their appearance is among the most unique, they share enough fundamental characteristics with Dragons that they have been added to the species. While being smaller than Drakes, their proportions mirror those of Dragons. The major differences are that rather than rough hide and scales, they grow feathers, and beaks instead of fangs. They also lack the versatily of the Dragon's dewclaw, and only sport four toes with strong nails instead of claws, similar in appearance to an eagle's foot. They tend to be around 8-9 feet in length, with 10 feet being their recorded maximum size.[break][break] Behaviour: Gryphons, much like Dragons, are naturally aggressive and territorial creatures. However, they lack the level of hunter-instinct, as they are omnivores that only hunt small game. They share a similar level of intelligence with Dragons however, and a similar level of aptitude to magic. They are known to form groups and are communal creatures. While being territorial, their level of intelligence generally allows humans to reason with them. [break][break] Habitat: Gryphons tend to live in woodlands. In Valor, they can only be found by venturing far enough into Waas Forest. They are isolationist creatures, and are fairly difficult to study due to their aggressive nature.[break][break] Abilities: - Gryphons are reasonably strong and can lift about three times their own body weight.[break] - They are the fastest wyverns, and one of the fastest creatures ever recorded. They have been shown to be able to break the sound barrier when flying at top speeds.[break] - Gryphons have a natural affinity towards wind magic, as well as multiple facets of mysticism. They are known to be able to cast illusions, read minds, and communicate telepathically.[break] - Gryphons' breath-ability is purely wind-based, and the weakest of all wyverns.

Their wingspan is the largest amongst wyverns, as they require the most force to fly. Their tails tend to be shorter, and only about as long as their bodies, measured from their hind to their head. Their necks also tend to be fairly short. As quadrupedal animals, they usually walk on all fours. They also have incredibly rough hide covered in large scales. Their bodies tend to be around 15 feet in length, but the largest recorded dragon grew up to 30 feet in length, without including the tail.[break][break] Behaviour: Dragons are naturally territorial and aggressive creatures. While they are omnivorous, they tend to hunt live prey. They are incredibly cunning hunters, and commonly hunt in packs. Their intelligence is even greater than that of Drakes, and they are known to be able to communicate quite effectively with the use of magic, and have even been observed to communicate telepathically amongst themselves.[break][break] Habitat: Dragons solely build nests mountainous regions. In Valor, they can only reliably be found in the Zonia mountains. While they can be encountered elsewhere, and are known to venture fairly close to human civilization and the walls of Eos, this is only when searching prey. They build their nests in caves at considerable altitudes.[break][break] Abilities: - Dragons are considered the strongest wyverns, and can lift around ten times their own body weight.[break] - They are also the slowest airborne wyverns, and reach top speeds of about 100 mph / 160 kmh.[break] - Dragons are inherently gifted at magic. And can use a wide array of magic associated with the school of arcanism. They are recorded to have wielded any variety of elements.[break] - A Dragon's breath appears to not be limited towards just one element. Dragons have been shown to breathe lightning, ice, wind and even water.
