The smile was met with no reaction by a blank stare. She didn't return the gesture since the smile given didn't feel so natural, so Kasiani had no reason to do the same. Well, as if Kasiani would return the gesture regardless of whether or not it was natural. She wasn't so much even decent in things like that, anyway.

Kasiani was quick to follow the other woman right behind her while still keeping her usual distance.. She huffed out a frustrated sigh and ran a hand through her hair. She mumbled a few words to herself, mainly swears from her anger of the academy getting attacked. The sooner they get to the wyvern, the sooner this could all be over.

She watched the other woman then transitioned to running off, Kasiani doing the same but staying behind to follow. "Try not to trip." She retorted from behind.

"A damn wyvern of all creatures to attack this academy..." She hissed under her breath.

The woman paced herself with clear agitation hinted at all over her body; her heat aura already higher than its usual warmth due to her source fire magic. A slight but very visible frown of displeasure was marked at the corners of her mouth. It was no surprise that Kasiani was well more than upset upon hearing the news of a wyvern antagonizing the academy. To make matters worse, despite the recovery doing surprisingly well, a student was injured. Upon the silver lining in years to even decades of research being destroyed by the wrath of the vindictive creature, no one else was hurt.

Her heat aura began to calm itself down as Kasiani managed to cool herself off from frustration, but is still known she was still annoyed. But with luck on her side, she wasn't going to handle such a task of killing a wyvern. Her eyes darted around the area she continued to stride in to look for the one she was paired off in this quest. A supposed monster hunter was called to help aid the master in slaying this beast. A "professional" or so she was informd. Kasiani was an outsider when it came to monster hunting, so it was no doubt she had to rely on this monster hunter for most of this trip.

A brief pause was made in her pace when Kasiani finally spotted the monster hunter already on campus and was against a wall. At a fair distance, she eyed the woman from head to toe, her eyes somewhat squinting at her appearance. Perhaps her expectations were just a little too high for what she envisioned a monster hunter would look like, but she had no room to judge. And no time.

Approaching the other woman, she made sure to keep herself at a reasonable distance for the sake of her heat aura not to burn if she's too close. Her brows furrowed with determination for the academy to have its peace restored. "You must be the monster hunter." Her tone was in its usual strick and professional tone, obviously already wanting to go straight down to business. "We both know why we're here, so all I must say is that since you're more experienced in monster hunting, I'll be expecting you to take the lead on this with me following behind you." She informed.

"And I suggest you lead quickly. Time can only tell when the wyvern will strike again." And she could only hope this was no amateur she was working with.

kasiani once had a rivalry with her sister when it came to being the best arcanist to ever live. of course her sister never saw what was considered competition, kasiani did. eventually her sister graduated long before her and became the master of arcanism. this encouraged kasiani to grow stronger and better for a few more years before she graduated and became a professor at the academy. shortly afterwards (and to sum up what happened), she went after her sister and killed her, becoming the master of arcanism. now a skeptical, strict, and awkward woman, kasiani must live with the burden she give herself without getting caught. although, there have been rumors circulating that involves kasiani killing her own sister for her profession. FRIENDSHIPS
COULD YOU BE DREAMING THAT WE'RE MEANT TO BE?this master isn't the best when it comes to making friends. she would make excuses that she doesn't have time for friends since she's always drowned in work. although that's not entirely the case, let's just say socializing isn't the best skill she has. she can, however, be seen as a mentor to those within the academy. kasiani doesn't mind supporting those that need her help or anything academy related. otherwise, she can be a tough nut to crack and open up. she isn't necessarily against the idea of having friends beyond acquaintance level, but it could take a while for her to actually try to make the effort of properly socializing. WON'T SAY I LOVE YOU - THAT'S CRAZY, YOU SEEtrouble isn't something kasiani looks for, but it'll always find her somehow. there are people she doesn't like and there are people that don't like her. she usually tries to stay away from drama and keep to herself, but she has no problem sharing her two cents. she doesn't approve of recklessness or disturbances within the academy or atlair in general, so immediate action would have to be done from her. kasiani isn't one to jump into things head on or attack so easily, but only if she was attacked first and is justified to react to as such. DON'T EVEN TRY TO UNDERSTAND MEkasiani claims she doesn't have time for romance, which is true for the most part. she's more focused on her work and the academy, so love is pretty much out of the question for her. however, it doesn't necessarily mean she isn't looking for someone by her side. she just doesn't know how to express her feelings properly since she usually likes to isolate herself. kasiani is already an awkward individual in general, so her being around someone she has a lot of interest in would turn her into a stuttering mess. with the right steps taken, she'd eventually confess. for now, she's forever a panicked woman when it comes to these things. Kasiani never really saw herself as someone who would be sent on a little scavenger mission. Because this particular mission involved retrieving a group of artifacts, one of them, that that possess an immortal species, it was expected that someone with experience should be in charge. Thus, leading Kasiani to be one that has experience to be tagged in the mission. However, she thought that someone like her wouldn't do something like this. As a matter of fact, anyone capable of doing this mission asides from just a master in general could do this mission. On the contrary, Kasiani's unlimited devotion and loyalty to the academy has told her otherwise.

While she had no problem doing this by herself, she was accompanied by two other people. The first one was said to be a treasure hunter, Leviathan; a very suitable and convenient role to have on board since Kasiani wasn't one to scavenge often. The second person was a student from the academy, Elwar Trague; he was a student whose grandparents have heavily contributed to the arts of theugry in the academy and a student she invited to do this mission with. To her, It was an efficient way to help prepare him for missions like this given from the academy and a way to welcome him into the academy.

A hand ran through some locks of her hair and gave a flick to move her hair from the front and to the back. Elegant steps were taking within the abandoned kingdom, her green eyes scanning the area to search for the company tagging along in her endeavors of retrieving these artifacts. She did pity the ruins of what could have been a successful, or at the very least decent, kingdom. Although it was a rival, it didn't stop Kasiani from wondering how far such a kingdom would've gone hadn't it been abandoned.

Finally, she spotted two people by an old fountain. What immediately grabbed her attention was a phoenix feather held by a large woman who's appearance interestingly takes on a reptilian image. By her was a young man with a fox idled on his shoulder. If her senses served her well, the young man was Elwar Trague and the large woman was Leviathan. She found the two people she needed to complete this mission.

"Well, it's nice to know we're all on time and ready to act as quickly as we can." Kasiani greeted while approaching the pair, forcing a warm smile and crossed both arms over her chest. Even small talk wasn't her best strength. She gave herself a distance from the two but not to the point where she'd be considered far with a strict nod given. Personal space was always a priority at all costs for her.

"Now, as we all know there were several artifacts stolen from the academy years ago and we're here to collect them back. However, it's clear that our priority lies on the most important one: the phoenix egg. There are even rumors that such an item is being sold and must retrieve it as soon as possible."

Kasiani paused to take a quick glance at the other two before continuing. "I suggest we jump straight into business. The last thing we want is a powerful creature sold to the wrong hands and unleash any possible terror."

Kasiani would be lying if she'd say she wasn't so nervous when it came to visiting a coworker's house.

She was invited into someone's house earlier today during her break hours by a fellow master of magic, Mairi; more specifically, the master of artifice. Kasiani would always rely on her use of acarnism to live up to her own title of being the master of that specific magic, but she also had respect for those who would use more artificial sources of magic to strengthen their weapons and bring life to it. She remembered her first few days of being a freshman trying to understand artifice, but then came to a realization that she would be better off being an acarnist. It was a decision that made her go through some... gruesome and extremely tasks to get to where she was today, but she had no regrets.

Of course, now wasn't the time to reminiscent a memory she would rather want to forget.

Mairi was an interesting woman to speak with. Although Kasiani's extremely professionalism would allow her to only speak to academy members during work hours, there were times where they'd actually engage in conversation. As short as their discussions were, Kasiani could tell that she was an insightful woman who knew how to keep her head high in even the most drastic situations. She was intelligent, quick-paced, and very devoting to her job. Kasiani admired the passion that she gives into her job, however it could be thanks to the inspiration of her father who had such a status in this world before he was, unfortunately, murdered by the supposed Grimm Troupe.

However, that didn't mean Kasiani was able to let her guard down so easily. While this is implied in general no matter where she was, she especially had to be on the alert around the master of artifice. It wasn't completely because Mairi at one point befriended her now deceased sister during their academy days, but her instincts told her to keep a close eye on her. There wasn't any rumors circulating around her name unlike Kasiani, but nonetheless that didn't mean she could be trusted. Mairi as of now was nothing more than a mere coworker. Not to mention that Mairi may or may not try to question Kasiani with the rumors about her and her sister.

Kasiani knew Mairi had some dirty secrets and she was more than willing to dig as deep as she could to get them.

But she wasn't also afraid to admit that she felt foolish for simply saying yes to visit someone's home. It felt out of character. She could've said no. Instead, she blindly said yes. It'd be rude for her to suddenly change her mind on someone who she did consider wanting to be closer with in terms of moving into a more friendlier base. Hell, just by accepting the offer made her all of a sudden confused when she could've said no.

With nothing more than a simple black t-shirt with a red heart strapped onto the center, dark gray shorts, and a simple pair of white sneakers, Kasiani had finally made her arrival to Mairi's home. The woman had no idea what to expect nor knew what she'd first see once she stepped in. To calm herself down, she took a deep but silent breath while closing her eyes before opening them back up. Heat, as naturally with the work of her primary element, fire, radiated from the woman. However, it radiated a little more than usual due to the nervousness pitted inside of her.

And before she knew it, Kasiani gave the other woman's door a loud knock in hopes of Mairi attending to the door as soon as she could.

Air is associated to freedom, and as such Kasiani wanted to find her own freedom from being looked down and compared to her sister. It is also a very complementing element to her ability to manipulate fire.

She can control how strong or weak a simple gust of wind can be alongside creating smaller offense moves such as a blast of wind or something destructive like a tornado.
- Nature's Ear: Because Kasiani can control air, she can passively air molecule vibrations within her ears to enhance her hearing to the point where she can hear even the slightest whisper and can hear within a 10 meter radius.
- Enhanced Oxygen Capacity: Kasiani is able to create air for her lungs so she can breathe through anything that is harmful such as poison or being able to breathe underwater.

Kasiani creates a signature of hand seals (16 in total) and on the final seal, she holds it in position as wind would start to surround her body. In this form, she has better control and freedom of manipulating wind. Her speed is enhanced to supernatural levels and each punch or kick given are strong enough to blow back up to 50 meters. She's also able to fly up to 50 meters and can also freely perform air blasts, controlling the range and size of them.

Fire was seen as the element of rage and anger, and as such was proven to be an element that was fit for Kasiani at the time when compared to her sister. Initially she had little to no control due to her own anger clouding her rationale of properly manipulating fire. Eventually, she learned how to control her inner rage and thus being able to have better control of fire.
[attr="class","nodensheader"]MAGIC ABILITIES [attr="class","nodensmagleft"] [attr="class","nodensmagleft2"] - Fire Manipulation: Kasiani has the ability to manipulate existing sources of fire and fire created by herself, create her own fire, and control the shape of it. She can intensify the size of it, whether it's something small like a candle or as large as a forest fire.
- Fire Resistance: Because she can create her own fire, Kasiani is immune to the heat it radiates alongside being immune to the effects fire gives, mainly being able to breathe in and see through smoke/ashes perfectly. She can get hurt by fire (not her own), but she has a very high durability when it comes to it.
- Heat Aura: Kasiani has higher body heat than the average human due to her ability to create fire. The closer someone is to her, the more likely they might feel a very minor but noticeable burn.
- Smoke Manipulation: In relation to her ability of fire manipulation, she can also control and create smoke.

Kasiani creates a signature of hand seals (16 in total) and on the final seal, she holds it in position as a large phoenix made of fire takes her place. The phoenix is about 50 meters tall and wide (wings included) and can be manipulated freely by Kasiani. It can fly up to 70 meters in the air; anything more than that and the phoenix will start to fade. It can create a powerful stream of fire from its mouth that is 30 meters wide and tall, and can travel up to 40 meters. During this form, Kasiani is immune to any type of fire damage, but is extremely sensitive and vulnerable to water.

Kasiani was born into a middle class family. She didn't have it all as a child, but she didn't suffer nor at any point wished that she was born in a different life. Both of her parents were professors at the Academy of Eos, so they were doing well in supporting their family. Kasiani grew up with an older sister by one year, Yuna, who was already an academy student before Kasiani herself reached the appropriate age. They both shared a strong sisterly bond that was unbreakable and would last forever.

Until she finally attended the academy. She took arcanism as her primary class, though many people had high expectations the moment she entered. Yuna was also an arcanist who, apparently, had displayed exceptional skills to the point where they automatically assumed Kasiani also had natural talent in the class. To their dismay, Kasiani's skills were below average. Her lack of talent in arcanism didn't stop there for others that had begun to look down on her. What got Kasiani the most was that she was referred as "the weaker sister" or the "lesser talented sister".

It was at that point, despite Yuna's many attempts of reassuring that Kasiani wasn't weak and offering to train her, Kasiani viewed her sister as her rival. She wanted to outclass Yuna as much as she could, but no matter how much she trained, no matter how much she did her research, she wasn't able to compete with her sister. Yuna was the more dominant and skilled sister and Kasiani was still the weakling.

For the next few years, Kasiani was still in the academy while Yuna graduated at an appropriate time. She was brought back a few years later, whereas Kasiani was still in the academy, as a faculty. Her reputation was large to the point where she was loved and recognized by many members of the academy. She was perfect. Soon after, Yuna became the master of arcanism after a few years of teaching. And that was the breaking point of Kasiani.

She used Yuna's promotion to master of arcanism as fuel to further better herself and take that position from her. That was Kasiani's goal: to become master of arcanism. Months of training transitions to years, where her vastly improved skills were beginning to become recognized and well respected. It came to a point where her skills were finally acknowledged to being on par with her sister's own.

But Kasiani didn't stop there. After years of being compared to her sister and looked down upon, she wanted it to be known by Yuna she was the better sister. Already blinded by years rage and vengeance, to Kasiani, she wanted blood to leak. And right then and there, Kasiani did it within one of the ruins of Eos where Yuna was training. She ruthlessly killed off her own sister as a way to prove that she was the better sister.

Regret and realization began to fill in her heart, but all the feeling of regret was quickly overtaken when she finally graduated at 28, came back to teach as faculty a few months later, and became the master of arcanism a year later.

Kasiani's guilty conscience continues to torture her as she lives on as the master of arcanism, but she would do everything in her power to maintain her title, even if it meant getting her hands dirty.
