The first person to arrive was a black haired youth. Leviathan ceased her slow pacing to meet his gaze as the distance closed. So, the Academy had sent someone to accompany their Master of Arcanism after all. If she had understood things during the initial briefing it would be someone new to the Academy. Elwar Trague. Only his surname meant anything to her, but there would be time to investigate that later. The boy’s experience or lack thereof was made apparent with his greeting, but Leviathan replied in good humor, pouncing on the opportunity for amusement.
“I am not your precious Master,” she answered slyly, taking several slow and long strides towards Elwar as she flashed her serrated teeth with a grin, “..but, there are secrets that I could teach you. I might have to kill you after, though.” A wink was added onto the last line, and she'd let the young student interpret things for himself.
Unfortunately whatever response Elwar would give would be the end of her fun as the true Master of Arcanism made her appearance shortly after. The brunette had an aura of rigid professionalism getting into things without so much as an introduction. There was a smile on Kasiani’s face, but something about it and her abrupt demeanor prompted Leviathan to not return the friendly gesture. The mutant simply listened and observed the other woman as she spoke, moving only to pocket the phoenix feather she had been holding. Once Kasiani had stopped talking Leviathan stepped into the discussion.
“Sorry, but pardon a quick point of deliberation for each of you then since time is of the essence,” she said cheerfully while holding up both of her index fingers at shoulder height. One finger then pointed towards Elwar before she glanced to him and continued with a playful smile.
“Orientations first so there’s no further confusion. That woman is your Master of Arcanism, Kasiani Atlas. I am Leviathan, your guide through Berkel. If you have any questions during this field trip direct them to her. Speaking of which…”
Leviathan pointed her other finger towards Kasiani as her own gaze followed as well. Her smile widened back into a grin as she spoke casually once more.
“Hit the ground running, huh Boss? I’m game for that. First thing’s first, though; how do you want any threats handled? Your job, your rules.” The mutant arched her brows at the question, curious to hear what Kasiani had in mind.

Avalon vi Leomagne Unless Avalon makes a move against the Black Market or Leviathan, I don't think Leviathan would consider the Warden an enemy to conspire against, either. A maddening annoyance for sure, though! Someone to bump shoulders with if they had to cross paths. I'm sure Avalon would have her own ways to aggravate Leviathan as well. In any case, exploring their dynamics sounds like fun! Leviathan does do mercenary work, but since Avalon doesn't leave the Trench much that might be the better setting for a meet up? I'm sure the prison houses a lot of people a treasure hunter or a Black Market member would find useful. Could be she's bringing papers for the release of an inmate recently thrown into the Trench? Or would something outside of the prison be better?
Myria of Blades Leviathan can definitely hold grudges, but it would depend on whatever erratic thing Myria did? Could be that Myria stole something Leviathan was hunting after, and replaced it with some kind of trinket she thinks is cute? That seems like something Myria would do if my impression of her is right. Gave Leviathan a good fight for the treasure box, but ultimately allowed Leviathan to get it since the real prize is already gone, just to watch her reaction? That's something Myria could have done without making Leviathan hate her, since I'm sure Leviathan has pulled that stunt before herself. After the initial rage and Myria's departure she would laugh, albeit sourly. All is fair in love and war, and with enough time she'd get over Myria's switcheroo stunt if that is what happened between them. Something interesting I noticed in Myria's bio, she did work for the Black Market in Fersen. Could be how they reunite if Leviathan needs help for a job? Wouldn't have to know Myria's a Troupe member if you don't want her to. Leviathan wouldn't trust Myria still, but would be friendly enough that they could do a job together. How's that sound?

Surely, there was a metaphor for life lost somewhere within the Ruins of Berkel. The rotting echoes of a past existence, frozen and choked beneath the dust. Historians might weep for the tragedy that was this abandoned city. Leviathan was not such a person. Not even a crocodile tear would be shed on her part for the culture that had been lost here. After all, what was lost could be found again, and returned to glory if passed into the right hands.
All of that would come at a price, of course.
Even the Academy of Eos would not find itself excused from this caveat despite the treasure hunter’s former employment with them. Few would remember her, for she had stood out only by her appearance. Charity was not the mutant’s forte, but everyone would get something they wanted by the time this job was over. As Leviathan pondered the thought she slowly twirled a bright red feather between two fingertips. She couldn’t decide if it was appropriate or overkill for an Academy Master to be taking on this job personally. Whether it was to retaliate for the slight against the Academy or for some private cause she couldn’t tell just yet.
It would be something fun to chew on during their interactions, though. Soon enough she would get to meet this Kasiani Atlas. She waited for the woman next to an old, dried up fountain. The stone structure and courtyard was overtaken by time. Cracks were commonplace on the once ornate carvings lining the fountain’s circular wall. Even the weeds had given up trying to claim the area, and had long since yellowed and died. Standing with her back to the setting sun Leviathan studied the phoenix feather again with a thoughtful look.
It was not by chance that the Academy had been given a letter with another such feather wrapped within it. Nor had it been a fluke that Leviathan’s name had been mentioned as a potential ally in this endeavor. She had been the one to hand over the letter, and offer her assistance as well pending a negotiable compensation. Maybe... A Master had been sent to keep an eye on her to ensure she’d keep her word? The thought drew a smirking grin across her lips revealing her pointed teeth in the dying light.
Long legs began a smooth and slow walk around the fountain’s edge as the treasure hunter kept an eye out for Kasiani. She kept the phoenix feather visible in one hand at her side just in case the Master of Arcanism wasn’t familiar with the mutant’s appearance.

| Leviathan Female - 30 - Bisexual - Black Market Fence Treasure Hunter - Mutant Blacksea |
As an entrepreneur Leviathan has a skewed perspective on friendships, in that she views them as transactions more than dynamic social bonds. Loyalty and trust are commodities to be traded, not assumed luxuries. What others put into this arrangement is often what they’ll get back in return. Continued good faith and mutual benefit will be applauded and rewarded. Betrayal or any other kind of nasty business will cause Leviathan to distance herself at best, or lash back at maliciously at worst. Items, knowledge, favors, Leviathan deals in many currencies to appeal to a wide audience. So long as you got a good sense for business and profits, she’ll always have her shark-like smile to greet you with. She may have a grim and dry sense of humor, and own a mischievous streak a mile wide, but few things are ever personal. It’s all just business, friend. Most people might encounter her while she’s treasure hunting, either as a client or a rival. She does exploratory work if the payoff catches her eye, and even helps search for stolen goods and steal them back if given a good enough reason to. She’s not above helping the government, nobles, or even Grimm Troupe members either, but they’ll have to pay for her aid just like everyone else. Not everyone she calls friends know about her illegal pursuits, and she prefers to keep it that way for everyone’s safety. For anyone else that finds her through the black market however, she'll keep the secret if you can, too. Black market competitors, treasure hunting rivals, people that have burned her or have been burned by her in past deals. There’s usually an issue somewhere with her aforementioned ‘transactions’ if she has a bone to pick with someone. And as a firm believer in cutthroat capitalism Leviathan is not afraid to hold a grudge and act upon it efficiently. Having a dangerous enemy in Eos is bad for business, and she prefers to keep that count as low as possible by playing for keeps. Someone worth more than all the money in Eos? Don’t hedge your bets. Leviathan is in Eos to make money, and she’s not afraid to admit that. Earning her genuine love is an investment in and of itself. Remind and show her that gold isn’t the only thing that can shine in this world. Disarm her of the thought that she needs to keep track of your relationship like it’s a business ledger. It might help if you can withstand her killer love bites, too. MADE BY ★MEULK

Her lungs are able to extract oxygen from water, allowing Leviathan to remain submerged for as long as she pleases. Webbed hands and feet (keen eyes will notice that the gloves she wears are also webbed to accommodate these membranes) work in tandem with a white scaled, crocodilian tail to help propel her through water with ease. At 4ft|121cm in length her muscled tail is quite flexible and can even be used to wrap around and grip large objects or act as a makeshift bludgeon.[break][break]
Her body's metabolism requires a considerable amount of intake to keep her at peak performance, or else she becomes slothful and agitated. To assist her ravenous eating habits Leviathan's teeth are pointed and serrated, and have no trouble replacing lost members in a day's time. The biting force of her jaws are able to take limbs off if given the opportunity, and powerful stomach acids allow her to eat things like bones with no problem.[break][break]
On both land and water she's quick and strong for a mutant, moving with serpentine grace to deliver fierce physical assaults. However, she's no more durable than the average person in regards to withstanding incoming attacks.
[attr="class","nodensheader"]VARIANCE - Angler's Allure [attr="class","nodensmagright"] [attr="class","nodensmagright2"] At will Leviathan can enable a form of bioluminescence to make her body glow with a soft, lavender colored light. She can isolate this glow to portions of her body like her hand, and project light up to 15ft|4.5m away from its source. The illuminated areas of her body will feel warm to the touch. [break][break]
If need be, Leviathan can weaponize this light by channeling and compressing ethernano within her throat. She can release this energy from her mouth in the form of a beam of crackling, searing light. The attack travels in a linear path up to 100ft|30m, and while can be sustained for a brief amount of time cannot be repeated in quick succession.

[attr="class","nodensheader"]CHARACTER BACKGROUND [attr="class","nodenscharright"] [attr="class","nodenscharright2"] Let them fight.[break][break]
The aristocracy here cannot trust their own parents or children, let alone the common folk they seek to rule through deceit. With noone to keep them honest the government would choke us with laws as they lounge with their ill-gotten gains. Elected by the people, but they are quick to forget that they are the servants.[break][break]
Noble houses had their turn upon a throne, and we all know how the last monarchy went. They can deny it and pretend as if the past has nothing to do with them all the way to the end of time. We know the truth. Even the illiterate dregs of society know that history. Nobles are the ones who ultimately made Eos the way it is today.[break][break]
As for the self-proclaimed rebels? Revolution is a pretty, but wasted word when uttered from the blood soaked lips of murderers. Their cause is not righteousness, but chaos for its own sake. Without an authority to rail against they would turn on and tear apart the everyday people and inevitably, themselves.[break][break]
The rich. The noble. The reckless. Let them fight and die in the darkness they spread, and let no one emerge victorious. That, is the only justice the people will find here. [break][break] As a tribal born in Waas Forest far from the dizzying spires of Eos, Leviathan came to the city bringing a simplistic perspective: adapt to survive.[break][break]
Her arrival ten years ago wasn’t a happy or willful one, but a migration forced by necessity. She left her tribe of mutants behind to support it in its time of need, finding employment in the city to help send funds home. To that end she’s had a rather colorful life as she bounced from career to career in search of something that satisfied her.[break][break]
Leviathan spent the first three years of her new life as an archivist in the Academy of Eos. It was a fantastic place to acclimate herself to citylife, and help broaden her own education a little. Being an archivist helped expose her to knowledge that she wouldn’t have otherwise bothered with as well. For the most part it was a stable and easy, albeit low paying, job that kept the mutant busy. Aside from a wayward student’s magic project going horribly awry from time to time there wasn’t much excitement for her to sink her teeth into. Once she felt comfortable enough with her new environment she moved on.[break][break]
The next three years of her life had been spent as a Knight. Being a hero to the people was a fantastic idea to her vainglorious mind at the time, and to her credit she performed her duties admirably. There were a fair share of gallant moments to be had as expected, but there certainly were plenty of heavy moments that really brought the mood down, too. After having her life put on the line one too many times for her liking, with a few close calls perpetrated by shadiness within the Council, Leviathan called it quits. [break][break]
Sort of, at any rate.[break][break]
She still believed that fighting for the everyday citizen was an honorable cause. Good people dealt a bad hand, and all. It resonated with the predicament her own tribe still faces to this day. Using contacts she made during her days as a Knight the mutant dove into the depths of the city’s Black Market, and never once looked back. It’s been four years now since she started swimming in dark waters. She works mainly as a fence for stolen goods, but publicly brands herself as a ‘professional treasure hunter.’ From time to time she does help the various factions of Eos ‘find’ things they need, though; especially if it helps them to impede the progress of other major players in the city. [break][break]
Did your noble family have an heirloom stolen? Or maybe a high ranking Knight lost their keys to a secured area? Perhaps your midnight meeting of concerned, law abiding citizens needs something flashy to kick the party off? [break][break]
If you’re looking for something valuable chances are Leviathan can help you find it. Of course, she cheerfully insists that she’s just another treasure hunter in need of some quick cash. |
